manueljpconde makes Mike speak five European languages
The mikeEU fork adds a built-from-scratch multilingual layer, so the tool can run in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, or German.
manueljpconde has wired language switching into Mike. Users pick their language from a switcher in the interface, and the choice sticks to their profile across sessions rather than resetting each login. Five languages are live today: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, and German.
Notably, the team didn't reach for an off-the-shelf translation library - they wrote their own lightweight system to manage the text. Coverage now reaches login and signup, account settings, the chat input, model selection, document upload, and the sidebar. It's not finished: some screens haven't been translated yet, and where a language is missing a phrase the app quietly falls back to English rather than showing a blank. That's the sensible default, and it means nothing breaks while the translations fill in.
