Open Legal Products rewires Mike's AI engine room

Mike's underlying connection to AI providers has been replaced with a more unified foundation for streaming responses and model support.

infrastructureintegration

Open Legal Products has moved Mike's backend AI integration onto Vercel's toolkit for connecting applications to language models. The practical aim is less duplicated plumbing when Mike talks to different providers, and a cleaner base for the streamed answers users see in chat.

The change also replaces older, route-by-route adapters with one shared approach to setting up providers. That is mostly invisible to lawyers today, but it is consequential: provider changes, failures and tool-assisted interactions all now pass through the same engine room. The team reports broad backend, frontend and Word add-in test coverage for the migration.

So what Legal teams assessing Mike should care because reliable model connections are foundational to every AI-assisted research, drafting and review experience built on top.
