The practical payoff is cleaner handling when an account is removed. Material owned by that person can be removed with the account, while document version history remains intact and simply no longer names them. Existing connections that expect user IDs as text continue to work, and the upgrade checks for bad or disconnected historical records before it applies.

The team also tested the change against production-like data, rollback scenarios, account deletion, and existing integrations.
