ranade-oss opens a public beta while weakening its review guardrails
The fork adds a public-beta path, but its new approval record raises a serious question about what "lawyer-reviewed" means here.
ranade-oss has added the practical machinery for a public beta, including registration and deployment support. The team also improved its release checks so that mismatches are explained rather than repeatedly corrected by hand.
More consequentially, the fork changes its professional-review process to allow an anonymous reviewer whose identity and licence details are not retained, with the project owner attesting on that person's behalf. It then uses that route to approve Ontario benchmark material and five workflows where the same named person appears as both author and reviewer.
That does not make the work unusable, but it means the fork's lawyer-reviewed claims are not independently verifiable from the public record.
