ranade-oss broadens the AI roster without loosening the keys
This fork adds Grok and Kimi as approved, separately controlled choices for legal-AI work.
ranade-oss has added two hosted-model providers rather than routing them through an intermediary. That gives users more model choice while preserving direct control over where requests go.
- Grok 4.5 and Kimi K2.5 can be selected for live responses and tool-using tasks.
- Each user can save or remove their own provider credentials; the keys stay encrypted and server-side.
- Deployment administrators still decide which providers may receive requests.
- OpenAI's model list remains tied to the user's own account, so GPT-5.6 appears only where that account has access.
Deployments need the normal database update before browser-saved credentials for the new providers will work.
So what Legal teams testing model fit now have more approved options without turning provider choice into a loose security exception.
