amal66 is putting Mike inside Microsoft Word

A staged effort to let lawyers call the legal-AI assistant without leaving the document they're drafting.

This is the third of six planned layers, deliberately built in small, reviewable steps. This one stands up the plumbing that lets Mike live inside Word rather than in a separate browser tab. What the layer sets up:

A panel that opens alongside your document, so the assistant sits right next to the text you're working on.
A sign-in gate that handles login and session before any legal content moves between Word and the backend.
Live, interruptible answers: responses stream in as they're generated and can be stopped cleanly the moment you change direction mid-draft.

This is early scaffolding, not a finished tool, and it hasn't landed in the main project yet - it was closed as part of a stacked series amal66 keeps in their own copy. But it's the connective tissue that would turn Mike from a standalone product into something a lawyer invokes directly in the app where the drafting actually happens.
