idukeric wants one key to unlock every AI model in Mike
A new option lets Mike reach dozens of large language models through a single account instead of juggling separate vendor keys.
Out of the box, Mike talks to a fixed set of AI models. idukeric's fork adds OpenRouter - a service that acts as a switchboard, routing requests to many models (including ones from OpenAI and Anthropic) through one account and one key. Users get a new account page to drop in that key and a toggle to pick which model answers.
The appeal is obvious: stop managing a drawer full of vendor credentials, and swap models freely as prices and capabilities shift. That said, this is early work. The commentary flags that the wiring isn't finished - model selection works in spirit, but the deeper plumbing has rough edges that would need ironing out before anyone relied on it. Worth watching, not yet worth adopting.
